Hello, I’m Marie, the owner of Henrys Cottage…
I have owned Henrys Cottage for a while now and it’s my ‘special go to place’ where I have had many happy times. The cottage is named after my son and he’s visited all his life. We have spent many happy days in the cottage, exploring the surrounding area and wonderful Norfolk regardless of the weather. I’m sure you will have a fabulous holiday too.
It was fate when I found the property, (I wasn’t even looking at the time), but a series of events led me to the cottage and to buying at auction in 1999 – one of the best decisions of my life!
Henrys Cottage is in the heart of Winterton village and is a wonderfully homely place that immediately makes you feel comfortable and at peace. Open fires make it cosy in winter and a fantastic sun trap of a garden make it the ideal relaxation spot on a sunny day. Of course, Norfolk is the sunshine county of England, having the highest number of sunny days and the least rainfall.
Henrys Cottage is essentially an old fisherman’s cottage dating from when Winterton-on-Sea was a thriving herring fishing community, with a unique feeling that wraps itself around you – it is a house that makes you smile. It’s warm and welcoming – the moment you walk in the door, you start to relax and unwind… the perfect holiday destination in traditional Norfolk.
